BACK TO CAKES & FROSTINGS.
JAN'S ICE CREAM CAKE
This was a hit for a family birthday party

Ingredients:
Cake:
1 Lg. pkg. devil's food cake mix with pudding
3/4 c. milk
1/3 c. Oil
3 eggs
1/2 gal. Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream
1 jar (14-16 oz.) hot fudge sauce
Frosting:
1 1/2 C. whipping cream
1/4 c. Confectioner's Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract  

Directions:
Cake:
Press half of ice cream into foil lined 13x9 pan. Spread hot fudge sauce over it.  
Spread 2nd half of ice cream over sauce.  Freeze.  
Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease & flour 2 13x9 pans.  
Combine all cake ingredients in bowl, beat on low speed till moistened, beat on high for 2 minutes. Pour half of batter into each pan.  
Bake 14-17 minutes, till cake springs back when touched, don't over bake.  
Cool 15 minutes, remove to racks to cool completely.  
Place one cake layer on plate, top with ice cream layer, then top with 2nd cake layer.
Frosting:
Beat cream sugar & vanilla till stiff, double ingredients for lots of frosting.  
Frost top & sides of cake, put chocolate sprinkles on top.
Freeze till serving time.
