BACK TO CAKES & FROSTINGS.
CHOCOLATE  CHERRY  CAKE
A good pot luck cake

Ingredients:
1 pkg. fudge cake mix
21 oz. cherry pie filling
1 tsp. almond extract
2 eggs, beaten
Chocolate Frosting:
1 c. sugar
5 tbsp. margarine
1/3 c. milk
1 c. (or 6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Grease and flour 9 x 13 inch pan.  
Combine cake mix, pie filling, almond extract and eggs in a large bowl.  
Stir by hand until well mixed.  
Spread in pan.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean (about 30 minutes).  
To make frosting:
combine sugar, margarine, and milk in a small saucepan.  
Stirring constantly, heat to boiling and boil 1 minute.  
Remove from heat.  Stir in chips until they are melted and frosting is smooth.  
Pour over cake and spread to cover.
